The Banford Parent Organization (BPO) is an organization of parents who volunteer their time and talents to support the education of their children as well as support the Banford teachers and staff.
If you have a child at Banford, you ARE automatically a member of the BPO!
The BPO meets on the 2nd Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Banford LRC. Childcare is provided and everyone is welcome! Please try to attend - there's something for everyone - whether big or small!
The BPO sponsors and organizes fund-raising activities throughout the school year. Proceeds from these activities are used to purchase classroom Wish List items, playground equipment, special assemblies, field trips, and more. We try to fill in where the school budget falls short. In the past years, the BPO has been so successful raising funds that we have purchased an examination light for the Nurse's Office, snowshoes, Monarch butterfly kits, a washer and dryer for Swap Shop, storage shed for the playground, digital camera, puppet theatre, books for the Bookworms lab, costume closet supplies, upgrades to stage, schoolwide assemblies and much more.

The BPO also offers informational meetings for parents in which we draw on many resources of our school to present information on subjects that are usually requested by parents.
The BPO has representation on the Banford Council which addresses school-wide policies. Our parent representatives bring updates to the BPO at our monthly meetings concerning school-wide policy issues. The BPO does have a voice and our voice is delivered back to the Council through our parent representatives.
The BPO coordinates volunteers to help throughout the school day and at evening events. The volunteers help coordinate special school wide activities including Field Day, the Science Fair, Teacher Appreciation breakfasts and lunches, Bookworms Volunteers, and more. These volunteers are vital and a key to the success of our BPO.
