Text Box: Page # Text Box: GUIDANCE NEWS: The 8th grade student scheduling assembly will take place on April 1st at 8 am. This is an informational assembly for students to learn about courses that are available to them in the high school next year. A High School orientation for 8th graders and their parents will take place on April 2nd at 7 pm in the High School Auditorium and LRC. This is a good opportunity to learn about graduation requirements and meet teachers from the different departments in the high school. All 8th graders and their parents will receive a letter in the mail with the time and date of their scheduling appointment. Parents are encouraged to attend these meetings with their 8th graders. If an appointment change is needed, please contact the Guidance Office. SATs will be given in Canton on May 3rd and the registration deadline is April 1st. We will give the SAT again on June 7, with a registration deadline of May 6th. All juniors should attempt to register for one of these dates. Registration is normally done online, but can also be done by way of paper application. Instructions for both are available in the Guidance Office. The BOCES Regional Summer School at Canton will be held from July 7- August 14, 2008. Pre-registration for classes will take place in the Guidance Office throughout May and June. There will also be registration on July 2-3, 2008 in the high school main office. Please contact Mr. Passamonte at 386-8561, extension 295 for questions.

State FFA Convention (continued from page 1) 

support from local groups and organizations to help prepare for this large influx of people. Tours are currently being planned to highlight a variety of attractions throughout St. Lawrence County. The planning and details that must go into coordinating such an event are enormous. Your support is being sought to help defray the costs of meals, entertainment, and tours for these young leaders. The Canton FFA would like to thank everyone who contributed to and/or attended the 1st Annual Indoor Garage Sale/Craft Show/Silent Auction/Kids’ Corner Day. The event was a huge success! Over 400 people visited us at the McKenney Middle School on Saturday, February 16th for this event as a part of WinterFest.
