BANFORD SCIENCE FAIR: The Science Fair returns to the Banford Cafeteria on Wednesday, April 9, 7:30 –8:30 am set up. Open house 6:30-8 pm. Experiments, models, surveys, and anything science-y (is that a word?) can be up for display. Mix up a batch of Oobleck….stir up a pot of Goo….and let’s see if you really can run a light bulb from a potato! Any questions, call Judy DeSantis at 379-0135.
BOOK FAIR: Stock up on your spring break reading! The best place for this is the Spring Book Fair, running April 8th & 9th (during the day), and on April 9th, during the Science Fair. Stop by and pick up some great titles, and benefit Banford at the same time! Any questions, call Trudy Foote at 386-4522.
CAMPBELLS LABELS: This is a delicious way to benefit Banford! Collect labels from Campbells products (for a list, see www.labels4education.com). Then submit labels to your teacher and they will go towards fantastic products for Banford. Any questions, contact Dawn Dollinger at 344-7967.
BOOKWORMS: Guzzle for Bookworms! An account is set up at Bessette’s Beverage & Bottle on Gouverneur Street. When you redeem your bottles and cans, ask the clerk to credit the Bookworms account. Monies will purchase testing diskettes, at $2.50 per diskette. There are volunteer opportunities in the Bookworms room. If you’re interested, contact any Banford Remedial Reading Teacher at 386-8561, ext 249.
B-I-N-G-O: Banford Bingo & Pizza Night was a great success! Two-hundred people in attendance made for a fun night, despite the looming snowstorm! The BPO earned approximately $1,250, making it the most successful Bingo Night to date. Our gift basket winners were: Maggie Smith (Bath Basket); Caitlin Ward (Outdoor Fun Basket); Emma Trulock (Art Basket); Carly Whitman (Indoor Fun Basket); and Madison Simser (Sports Basket). Thanks to the following merchants for their donations: Corning, for $100 towards prizes; Green Furniture, for the chair; White’s Flowers, for a Webkinz and gift wrap; Brewer Bookstore, for the Monster Kit; Youngs Bros. Lacrosse, for the lacrosse sticks; St. Lawrence Valley Prevention Council, for the Hollywood Baskets; Kinneys, for the bottled water; P&C, for the juice boxes; and Sergi’s, for the discount on the delicious pizza. And a hale and hearty salute to organizer Edith Frazer, and all who donated items for the raffle baskets. Hope to see you next year!
